Why did you choose Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program?
I love the supportive learning environment the residents have. Even as a medical student, I felt like I was part of the team. They really help you build a strong foundation in pediatrics. They are huge advocates for their patients and that’s exactly the kind of team I want to surround myself with.
Hobbies: Learning how to cook new recipes, being active and outdoors, travel to new places, crafting and drawing.
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments: I was an AmeriCorps member with City Year, working with kids from underserved areas. I am a huge advocate for giving children their basic needs to survive. Disparities exist in all areas of their lives and I believe that helping them with their basic educational skills was a stepping stone to improve life outcomes.
Care Philosophy: My care philosophy is working with patients and parents as a team. I am an advocate for informed care. I like to be that doctor who will try to explain to you why we’re doing certain tests, what we’re looking for, and what we’re worried about. I want to build a relationship with patients, so they feel comfortable and trust me to provide the best possible care.
