Hometown: Cerritos, CA

Medical School: Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
During my sub-internship rotation, I was truly impressed with both the people within the residency program and the diverse patient population. With a wide catchment area and being the only children’s hospital in Central California, I was able to see not only routine bread and butter cases but also unique cases that I only thought I would read about in textbooks. Additionally, I felt welcomed by all the people I met within the program and I felt as though I was part of the team as a medical student. Valley Children's fosters a supportive learning environment where I can truly thrive and become the best possible physician that I can be.

Hobbies:
Traveling, binge watching TV shows, hanging out with friends, trying new adventures, playing with my dog, cooking

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
During medical school, I participated in CHAMPS where I got the opportunity to teach children basic anatomy and the importance of nutrition in order to keep those body systems healthy. I also worked in KCU COVID vaccine clinics where I administered COVID vaccines as part of preventative health measures in Kansas City. My advocacy interests lies with providing equal healthcare access including preventative health and mental health measures to patients of all backgrounds. I obtained my MBA while in medical school because I wanted to learn about healthcare policy in order to learn how to best advocate for my patients. I hope to use the skills that I gained through this degree to understand how administration influences medical decisions and to help influence policy that will keep the patient at the center of my care.

Care Philosophy:
My care philosophy is putting my patient at the forefront and working alongside patients and their families through a collaborative and transparent approach in order to do what is best for the patient. I believe it is my job as a pediatrician to advocate for my patients when they cannot advocate for themselves. I also hope to embrace my inner child and have fun while treating the best patient population!
