Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
I chose Valley Children’s because I could feel the genuine support, collaboration, and care from every person I interacted with during my interview. I knew the opportunities and advocacy aligned well with my own goals for my training and knew I could grow into the pediatrician I hope to be at this program.
Hobbies:
Backpacking, hiking, camping, reading, movies, video games, and listening to music (especially live!)
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
I am passionate about providing care and advocating for all people across the globe and have spent time on medical trips to indigenous Mexican villages. I also advocate for increased research and funding for childhood cancer and work with organizations to fundraise and improve family access to much-needed resources. My previous research has touched on multiple topics, including traumatic brain injury, simulator usage in cognitive neurology clinics, implementing community-based mental health education, and improving nutrition education in the hospital for diabetics.
Care Philosophy:
I believe that all patients, both in our own neighborhood and globally, are deserving of safe, quality, and compassionate medical care. I strive to bring empathy, knowledge, and love to each interaction and facilitate healing of each patient and their family/support system.
