Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
Valley Children’s offers the qualities I most deeply value in a program: an interconnected, supportive environment that has inherent within it human kindness, individualized educational opportunities, and a clear focus on the community. There is a patient-centered warmth to all sides of it and I wanted to be a part of that.

Hobbies:
I spend my free time outdoors with my fluffy white dog, working out, discovering arthouse cinema new and old, reading comic books because I’m a nerd, listening to all kinds of music from classical to dance, skiing/ snowboarding, piano, drums, and a cappella as a bass/baritone/tenor!

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
I managed and led a medical student-run pediatric clinic for low-income single-parent families, where we held wellness checks and vaccine nights to help keep kids immunized, provide education for parents, combat dynamic anti-vax misinformation, and provide meaningful learning opportunities for medical students. My research has spanned from animal connectome neuroscience to translational fetal stem cell surgical solutions for spinal bifida to extensive public health work advocating for health equity in pediatric oncology, pulmonology, and transgender care.

Care Philosophy:
Work hard, listen, and never lose perspective. Medicine can be a scary place, especially for a child. It is important to me that every patient (and parent) feels heard and understood and that the battle they are experiencing is recognized. I bring the same philosophy to the medical team and staff, so that my colleagues know they are supported and loved.
