Cardiac Rehabilitation to Increase Endurance
The specially trained staff at Valley Children’s Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Center provides therapeutic expertise to help patients with a heart condition, such as congenital heart defects or acquired heart disease, build endurance as they recover from surgery or hospitalization. Fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Valley Children’s Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Center is one of only two pediatric facilities in the state with this impressive designation, and one of only five on the West Coast. Our inpatient pediatric rehab team helps patients regain strength, reduce future health risks and improve overall quality of life.
Specialty Care with Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
As the only pediatric provider in the region with physiatrist-based care, our board-certified and fellowship-trained physician specialists combine physical medicine with cardiac rehabilitation program expertise. Our specialized team of physiatrists directs all care at Valley Children's 20-bed Inpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Center. In addition to rehabilitative care while in the hospital, our team combines exercise and education, providing detailed educational care for caregivers and patients as they prepare to return home. Specialists at Valley Children’s Hospital will tailor a patient plan to help children or young adults – recovering from congenital heart disease or other conditions – receive the exercise training and education needed to stay physically active.
