Valley Children’s Willson Heart Center has been a leader of pediatric heart care in the Central Valley for more than 60 years. Driven by innovative treatments and state-of-the-art technology, our comprehensive cardiology program delivers the most advanced heart and vascular care throughout Central California. We offer specialized services for a wide range of heart conditions and for both congenital defects and acquired heart disease – from the fetus to young adult.
Access for Routine and Urgent Heart Conditions
Our expert team provides convenient access to pediatric heart services at our hospital in Madera and at outpatient facilities across Central California in Modesto, Merced, Visalia, Bakersfield and Templeton on the Central Coast, and collectively supports more than 10,000 visits a year. With 24/7 emergency services for urgent cases and regional clinics for routine care, we strive to minimize stress for our patients and their families.
Cutting-Edge Cardiac Non-invasive Testing and Interventional Services
Whether a child is born with a congenital heart defect or acquires a heart condition, early detection and timely intervention can be lifesaving. From EKGs and stress tests to advanced cardiac imaging, our expert heart team uses reliable cutting-edge technology to provide accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
Valley Children’s Electrophysiology Program and its affiliation with Stanford University further specializes in diagnosing and managing cardiac conduction abnormalities using both non-invasive and catheter ablation techniques.
Our comprehensive echocardiography services, including transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal and intracardiac studies, handle approximately 23,000 cases every year with same-day consultations, as needed. These services are supported by our sophisticated echocardiography system and are available directly at our facilities. Additionally, we provide telemedicine interpretations of echocardiograms for hospitals across Central California.
Our pediatric interventional cardiologists use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to treat heart conditions, such as closing heart defects and replacing valves, resulting in:
- Shorter Hospital Stays
- Faster Recovery Times
- Decreased Risk of Blood Loss
- Less Discomfort
- Less Scarring
Cardiothoracic Surgical Program
Providing prenatal and postnatal consultations, our cardiothoracic surgeons, affiliated with Stanford University, manage the most straight-forward to the most complex heart conditions, including hypoplastic left heart syndrome and complicated heterotaxy conditions, with excellent outcomes.
Valley Children’s remains committed to advancing pediatric cardiology care, ensuring children receive the highest quality treatment in accessible and supportive environments.
