Valley Children’s Calls on Local Artists For Specialty Care Centers in Bakersfield and Modesto

Valley Children’s is releasing a “Call for Artists” in the Bakersfield and Modesto areas to submit examples of their work for purchase or commission, to enrich the healing environment of two new outpatient specialty care centers.

Valley Children’s Medical Group has plans for two specialty care centers – Eagle Oaks Specialty Care Center in southwest Bakersfield and Pelandale Specialty Care Center in north Modesto. Eagles Oaks Specialty Care Center will be a 52,000-square-foot medical center in southwest Bakersfield. The first phase of the Pelandale Specialty Care Center encompasses 40,243 square feet. Both outpatient centers will be designed with children and families in mind.

“We want our specialty care centers to provide a place of comfort and healing,” says Valley Children’s Medical Group President Michael Goldring. “Everything we’re doing is for families. They are involved in the planning and taking part in discussions on design. We want to also showcase the talents of artists who live and work in the areas our specialty care centers will serve.”

Artist applications will be handled through an online application process using the following link: https://www.codaworx.com/rfp-toolkit/rfp/vcmg-project-rfq. Please refer to the website for complete information on the application process, including the most up-to-date version of this Call for Artists, the application form and “how to apply” instructions. Any questions about the project should be addressed to info@codaworx.com or by calling the CODAworx office at 608-467-3040. We are now taking applications. Completed applications must be submitted on or before Monday, July 3, 2017 at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

Valley Children’s is committed to expanding access for families to the best pediatric specialists throughout Central California. Our network of specialty care centers keeps children and families close to the people they already trust for their best care – their own primary care physicians. The goal is for all families in our 11-county service area to be within 30 miles of a Valley Children’s provider.

A groundbreaking ceremony for Eagle Oaks Specialty Care Center in Bakersfield took place last month. A groundbreaking ceremony for Pelandale Specialty Care Center in Modesto will take place Saturday, May 20. (Media crews are cleared to attend, though the ceremony is invite-only and not open to the public.)
