Valley Children’s Recognized as a Top Performer in Making a Positive Contribution to Human and Environmental Health

Valley Children’s has been nationally recognized for making a positive contribution to human and environmental health through responsible purchasing decisions. Vizient, Inc., - the country’s largest healthcare performance improvement company - ranked Valley Children’s at the top for all partners and first in the children’s hospital category.

“Being named the top performer of Environmentally Preferred Sourcing is a tremendous honor and tribute to the outstanding work of our Supply Chain team,” said Kellie Dyer, Valley Children’s vice president of Construction, Facilities and Supply Chain. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our team never took our eyes off what was best for our kids, our resources and our environment.”

The Environmentally Preferred Sourcing Excellence distinction is awarded to organizations who reduce negative human and environmental health impacts through sustainable and safer purchasing decisions.

“The healthcare products purchased by hospitals matter beyond clinical outcomes and cost savings. They also impact the health of their staff, patients and the communities they serve,” said Simrit Sandhu, Vizient executive vice president of clinical supply solutions. “We commend Valley Children’s Healthcare for making smart, sustainable, safe and resilient purchasing choices.”
