(Madera, California) – The 32nd Annual Kids Day benefiting Valley Children’s Hospital is tomorrow - Tuesday, March 5!
More than 8,000 volunteers will hit the streets throughout Central California to sell special Kids Day editions of The Fresno Bee. The papers will sell for a suggested donation of $1 each in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Mariposa, Kings and Tulare counties. This year’s fundraising goal is $625,000.
Since 1987, Kids Day has raised more than $9.2 million for “The Children’s Fund.” Last year, donations helped Valley Children’s rank as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country in four specialties; purchase state-of-the-art equipment including the region’s first EOS imaging system, which produces full-body 3D images while exposing children to significantly less radiation; provide care for more than 288,000 outpatient cases; perform more than 12,700 surgeries and support 114,000 visits to our Emergency Department.
Students at more than 235 schools from Modesto to Porterville will also participate. This includes elementary, junior high and high schools, along with junior colleges and universities.
To contribute to Kids Day, you can buy a newspaper tomorrow, text GEORGE to 80077 to make an automatic $10 donation or go online to www.valleychildrens.org/donate.
