Multidisciplinary Interview Center (MDIC)
The Multidisciplinary Interview Center (MDIC) was established at Valley Children’s Healthcare’s Child Advocacy Clinic to assist children and dependent adults whom are suspected victims of sexual or physical abuse or who may have been a witness to a crime. The purpose of the MDIC is to reduce the number of interviews and decrease the number of people whom will talk to the victim. It strives to provide a welcoming, child friendly environment where children/dependent adults can feel safe and be interviewed by a trained professional. This approach is key in providing the best trauma informed services to victims of abuse and their families.
The MDIC aims to increase the probability of convicting perpetrators of abuse and works to coordinate services provided by the participating agencies to the victim and their family.
