Board certified in pediatric endocrinology and general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Ethel Clemente joined Valley Children’s in January 2022.
Prior to Valley Children's, Dr. Clemente served as a pediatric endocrinologist and assistant professor of pediatric endocrinology at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.
Dr. Clemente is active in a variety of medical societies, including the Pediatric Endocrine Society, Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association and American Academy of Pediatrics. Her passion for endocrinology has led to numerous research projects on topics including type 1 diabetes and treatments for children with growth hormone deficiency. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Pediatric Clinics of North America and Disease-A-Month. Dr. Clemente has also contributed to book chapters, as well as participated in presentations and lectures all over the world.
After graduating cum laude with her doctor of medicine and surgery from University of Santo Tomas, Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Clemente went on to complete a post-graduate internship and residency in pediatrics at University of Santo Tomas Hospital in the Philippines. She served a year as chief resident before completing a second residency in pediatrics at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Clemente continued on to a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology, which she completed at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
