Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Raymund David joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric neurologist in January 2009.
Dr. David is the director of the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic at Valley Children’s in conjunction with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Prior to joining Valley Children’s, Dr. David was the medical director of pediatric neurology at Avera Children’s Specialty Clinics in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a member of several professional associations including the Child Neurology Society, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. David’s interests include headaches, epilepsy, neurocutaneous syndromes and movement disorders. He participated in several research studies with Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Brown University School of Medicine at Memorial Hospital and the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. He has given several presentations in pediatric neurology and neonatal neurology. He has published his work in professional journals including Movement Disorders and the Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. David completed his medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at Mount Sinai School Medicine Program at the Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York. Dr. David did a fellowship in pediatric neurology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine /Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
He speaks Spanish and Filipino. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball, tennis and trail biking.
