About

Dr. Patricia Quebada Clerkin joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as the medical director of pediatric neurosurgery. She is board certified in pediatric neurosurgery and general neurosurgery by the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Her areas of interest include brain and spinal cord tumors, congenital spine and brain malformations, craniofacial disorders, peripheral nerve tumors and disorders, spinal instrumentation, hydrocephalus, shunts and endoscopy, pediatric brain and spinal cord trauma and Global Medicine. 

Dr. Clerkin previously practiced at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where she served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Surgery at the Geisel School of Medicine. She has published her work in various peer-reviewed publications such as Journal of Neurosurgery Pediatrics, Journal of Neurosurgery and Molecular Brain Research. She has completed her Master’s degree in Healthcare Science Delivery for the Dartmouth Institute/Tuck School of Business. 

Dr. Clerkin is a member of several professional societies, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), AANS Section of Pediatric Neurosurgery, National Neurotrauma Society, and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. She has also participated in community and international organizations, such as the Craniofacial Teaching Clinic, National Pediatrics Hospital, in Hanoi, Vietnam. 

Dr. Clerkin grew up in California and attended University of California, Berkeley with a major in the neurosciences. She completed her medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. She did her internship in surgery and her residency in neurosurgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She also did postdoctoral training as a research fellow at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She completed fellowships in pediatric neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario in Canada and at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
