Dr. Jessica Louie joined Valley Children’s pediatric psychology team in November 2022 with specialized research background in intergenerational cycles of child abuse and clinical background in pediatric chronic illness. She brings expertise in a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns, including coping with chronic illness, consultation/liaison, adherence, pain management, anxiety/depression, adjustment disorder, feeding/eating disorders, elimination disorders and ADHD.
Dr. Louie holds master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada, California. She comes to Valley Children’s from Kaiser Permanente East Bay Consortium in Antioch, California, where she completed training as a psychology postdoctoral resident. In this role, Dr. Louie served as an ambassador for the integration of psychology services within the pediatric primary care setting and facilitated the development of a new embedded primary care psychology position in the clinic.
Prior to her postdoctoral training at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. Louie completed a clinical psychology internship at Jackson Health System/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, where she served as chief intern. She then completed an additional year of training as a pediatric psychology fellow at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri, where she was an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team, assessing and caring for children coping with chronic illness and hospitalization.
In her spare time, Dr. Louie enjoys spending time with her husband playing board games, exploring new restaurants and tending to her 11-year-old rabbit, Lavender.
