Practice Philosophy
"As a pediatric hospitalist in the Central Valley, I believe in providing family centered, culturally sensitive, and evidence based care to our diverse, and often medically underserved community. I believe that a team approach that includes our families, nursing, and staff, will help provide the best outcomes for our patients. And in addition to direct patient care, I feel that medical education is our best asset in continuing these practices into the future."
Board certified in pediatrics and a member and senior policy analyst of the California chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Dr. Jaimie Brandley joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in August 2018 as a pediatric hospitalist.
Dr. Brandley earned her medical degree from Tuoro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California, where she was honored with an induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, a national medical education honor society that recognizes exemplary contributions to clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service.
She then went on to complete her pediatric residency training with the UCSF Fresno Pediatric Residency Program in Fresno. After residency, Dr. Brandley stayed on at UCSF Fresno, where she provided inpatient care as a pediatric hospitalist and provided education and mentorship to pediatric residents.
Dr. Brandley’s passion for education is not limited to pediatric residents, however. Throughout her career as a physician, she has educated state legislators on issues in pediatric healthcare on behalf of the American Academy of Pediatrics as part of the AAP’s Legislative Advocacy Day.
Even before seeking a career in medicine, Dr. Brandley’s interest in education and science were showcased in her work as a high school science teacher at Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School in Marlboro, Maryland.
Today, Dr. Brandley’s love of education shines through as she helps patients and families understand their diagnosis and care plan, both at the hospital and when they are discharged home. One of Dr. Brandley’s ongoing projects is working with the Children’s Health Center Medical Home Project in Fresno to establish medical home standards for medically complex patients in the primary care setting.
