Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Abha Sharma joined Valley Children’s Primary Care Group in 2024, practicing at Fresno Children’s Pediatrics in Fresno. In this role, she provides a wide range of pediatric primary care services to infants, children and adolescents, including well-child exams and sick visits.
After receiving her medical degree from Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Pokhara, Nepal, Dr. Sharma completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Dr. Sharma has contributed to the body of academic research in her field, having published in Neoreviews and Consultant for Pediatricians.
Dr. Sharma is also a licensed breastfeeding consultant, having obtained the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) certification in 2016. Her dedication to children’s health also compelled her to pursue additional training and certification in nutrition coaching and plant-based nutrition.
Dr. Sharma has been practicing general pediatrics for more than 15 years, both in her native Southern California and more recently at Kaiser Permanente in Fresno. There, she supervised first-year pediatric residents from Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program during their newborn rotation.
