Practice Philosophy
"I believe in providing evidenced based care, along with utilizing our knowledge and experience in medicine combined with the patient and families' values and needs to care for their child. I believe in shared decision making with families and collaboration with inter-professional staff to provide the best possible care for the children admitted to our hospital. I also believe that to provide the best possible care for our patients currently and in the future, we have to provide excellent evidence based, quality education to students and residents."

Dr. Sindhura Gandham is a pediatric hospitalist at Valley Children's Specialty Medical Group in Madera, California and clinical instructor (affiliated), Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gandham completed her medical training at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary and her pediatric residency at the UCSF in Fresno, California where she also served as a chief resident. Dr. Gandham is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Her educational interests include professional development of both learners and faculty, especially in the realm of quality improvement and patient safety. She is a member of the Emergency Medical Response Team Leadership Committee and involved in hospital-wide process development and improvement as it relates to emergency responses in the hospital and prevention of Codes. She has been involved in multiple Quality Improvement (QI) projects, including co-creating an algorithm for Kawasaki, Atypical Kawasaki and MIS-C for Valley Children's Healthcare as part of a QI project to standardize care for patients with Kawasaki Disease and Atypical Kawasaki Disease. Nationally, she served as a local project co-leader for Standardization of Fluids in Inpatient Settings (SOFI), through the Value in Inpatient Pediatrics (VIP) Network, American Academy of Pediatrics. She is currently working on increasing accuracy of intakes and outputs on the acute care floor as a QI project.
Dr. Gandham is a core faculty member for Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program and a volunteer clinical instructor for the UCSF Fresno Pediatrics Residency Program. She also serves as the Quality Improvement Faculty Lead for Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program. In this role, she created an innovative, longitudinal quality improvement curriculum for pediatric residents to ensure a solid foundation in quality improvement. This novel curriculum has already increased the scholarly productivity of the residency program. Most importantly, as a result of this work, the residents gain an understanding of the impact of QI on patient care and safety. She is also the Chair of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Subcommittee of the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) for Valley Children's Healthcare.
She has also been involved in faculty education by creating and coordinating the annual Valley Children's Hospital Pediatric Hospitalist Conference and Hospitalist Lecture series for several years and is a member of the education committee.
