Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Julieanna Sahouria joined Valley Children’s as a pediatric emergency physician in September 2012. Her areas of special interest include quality improvement, asthma treatment, evidence-based medicine, and development and improvement of the electronic medical record.
Dr. Sahouria comes to us from Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston where she worked as an assistant professor, department of pediatrics, since July 2011.
Dr. Sahouria received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. She did her pediatric residency at Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, N.J., where she was also chief resident. She completed her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, where she served as chief fellow.
Dr. Sahouria has published in peer reviewed publications including “Circulation” and “Pediatric Radiology.” She has also presented and conducted research on a variety of topics in her field.
She is a member of several professional societies such as the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Sahouria is competent in conversational and medical Spanish and Arabic. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
