Dr. Rommy Michelle Porras-Blanco is a Valley Children's Pediatric Medical Group primary care pediatrician at Olivewood Pediatrics in Merced. She joined Valley Children’s Pediatric Medical Group in August 2017 after completing her pediatric residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and later becoming chief resident for the pediatric residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago. She graduated from medical school at Universidad de Carabobo in Venezuela.
While working at Georgetown, Dr. Porras-Blanco won the Medstar SPIRIT Award for her integrity, patient-first focus, respect, innovation and teamwork. She was also part of research teams at Georgetown, has volunteered for public health projects in Honduras and was a Spanish pediatric CPR trainer for pediatricians from Latin America at the American Academy of Pediatrics Conference in Washington, D.C. in 2015.
She is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian and enjoys traveling, photography, drawing, yoga and tennis.
