Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Jennifer Johnson joined Valley Children’s as a developmental-behavioral pediatrician in 2020.

After receiving her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri, Dr. Johnson went on to complete a pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. She then completed a fellowship in developmental-behavioral pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Dr. Johnson is dedicated to research and has served as principal investigator and researcher on many studies, including examining the relationship between home environment stimulation and academic achievement of children who have been in contact with child welfare services. Dr. Johnson has also conducted research on topics including autism, pediatric mental health, and the comorbidity of mental health conditions and school problems. She has also co-authored a chapter on ADHD in adolescents.

Dr. Johnson has also shared her expertise with fellow physicians, including serving as a scenario-based learning group leader with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Johnson is deeply committed to giving back to the community through volunteerism. Throughout her career, she has mentored students at various academic levels (from grade school to pediatric residents) and has traveled abroad on several service trips for various organizations, most recently with Saint Louis University School of Medicine to volunteer at local health clinics in Guatemala.
