Dr. Dominic Woodson joined the team at Valley Children’s as an orthopaedic surgeon in 2024.

As a is a dedicated pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Woodson’s comprehensive training began at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee, where he earned a doctor of osteopathic (DO) medicine degree as well as a master’s degree in anatomical sciences. He developed a wealth of experience during his orthopedic surgery residency training at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto before going on to complete a pediatric surgery fellowship through Duke University Hospital and UNC Children’s Hospital in North Carolina. 

Beyond his medical training, Dr. Woodson served as a major in the California Army National Guard, where he gained invaluable experience as a field surgeon during critical missions, including the COVID-19 hospital decompression effort in 2020. His military service has not only enriched his clinical skills, but has also instilled a strong sense of duty and resilience.

Dr. Woodson is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He has shared his research and expertise in various posters, presentations, abstracts and the peer-reviewed publication, Journal of Hand Surgery.  

With a passion for improving the lives of young patients and a commitment to excellence in surgical practice, Dr. Woodson has special interest in deformity correction, hip preservation, spinal malformations and trauma. 

In his spare time, Dr. Woodson’s hobbies include physical exercise, barbequing, football, and wine tasting, as well as spending time with his family.
