Dr. Ashley Phillips joined Valley Children’s in September 2023 as a clinical psychologist. Prior to joining Valley Children’s, Dr. Phillips was a professor in the department of psychology at St. Catherine University in Minnesota, where she specialized in understanding psychological disorders and conducting psychological assessments.
Dr. Phillips received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, part of Alliant International University in Fresno. She also holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology and a teaching credential from Fresno State.
Throughout her career, Dr. Phillips has been dedicated to training the next generation of behavioral health professionals, having held adjunct and assistant professor positions at several universities. Additionally, Dr. Phillips brings a unique educational and professional background to pediatric healthcare: prior to beginning her journey as a clinical psychologist, she was an elementary school teacher in Madera. As a teacher, she gained valuable experience developing interventions for at-risk students and working with the special education team on creating IEPs and 504 plans for students with physical and learning disabilities.
Dr. Phillips’s dedication to academics is evident in her robust research portfolio. She has presented her work in Roeper Review, an international, peer-reviewed publication featuring research on education, in addition to presentations at a wide variety of professional conferences across the country.
Dr. Phillips is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Women in Psychology.
