Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-Language Pathologists at Valley Children's provide expert diagnosis and treatment of pediatric speech, language, feeding and swallowing disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We bring a team approach to patient care and often collaborate with audiology, physical therapy and occupational therapy, nursing, radiology, respiratory therapy and otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat).
Valley Children's team of dedicated and experienced speech-language pathologists are active on several hospital-based clinics, including our Craniofacial Anomalies Clinic and High Risk Infant Follow-Up Clinic. Specialized feeding, swallowing and early communication services are also offered for babies delivered prematurely, from NICU through outpatient.
Children who have speech, language or swallowing disorders can be referred to Speech-Language Pathology for an evaluation to establish the presence, type, and severity of disorder, and to determine the appropriate course of care.
