About Me

Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship-trained in maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Sanmaan Basraon joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a maternal-fetal medicine specialist in December 2014. She has a special interest in preeclampsia and pre-term birth.

Dr. Basraon previously practiced at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine where she worked as an assistant professor, maternal-fetal medicine, department of obstetrics and gynecology, in Madison, Wisconsin.

Dr. Basraon received her medical degree from the Government Medical College in Patiala, Punjab, India. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, Master of Public Health, and fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas.

Dr. Basraon has presented on numerous topics in her field across the country. She has published her work in peer-reviewed publications, including the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology; American Journal of Perinatology; Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology; and NeoReviews. She has also served as a reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the Association for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Management.

Dr. Basraon is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi.

In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
