About Me

Board certified by the American Board of Surgery in pediatric surgery and general surgery, Dr. Carlos Sanchez-Glanville joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in 2018 as a pediatric surgeon.

At Valley Children’s, Dr. Sanchez-Glanville leads the evaluation and surgical care for children with pectus excavatum, a condition in which the breastbone is sunken into the chest. He works closely with families to provide comprehensive consultations, develop individualized treatment plans and perform minimally invasive surgical interventions aimed at improving both physical function and quality of life for affected patients.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Sanchez-Glanville worked on the pediatric surgery staff at the Hospital Español Auxilio Mutuo de Puerto Rico and the San Jorge Children’s Hospital, both in Puerto Rico. He also served on the pediatric surgery staff at the Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital and as an assistant professor at the Pediatric University Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Sanchez-Glanville is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA), previously of the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (CAPS), and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). He holds certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

He has participated in research in genetic analysis of patients with hereditary inclusion body myopathy and has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the World Journal of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery and the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. His research has also been presented at the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons Annual Meeting and the American College of Surgeons Puerto Rico Chapter annual meeting.

Dr. Sanchez-Glanville graduated magna cum laude with his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2008. He completed his residency in general surgery in 2013 at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and his pediatric surgery residency in 2015 at the University of Calgary Alberta Children’s Hospital in Canada.

He is fluent in English and Spanish.
