About Me
Dr. Bianca Castellanos is American Academy of Pediatrics board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. She joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as a cardiologic electrophysiologist at the Willson Heart Center in 2021.
Dr. Castellanos ranks as a Major in the United States Air Force in the Medical Reserves component.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Castellanos worked as a general cardiologist at the University of California, Davis Children’s Hospital before completing a sub-specialty fellowship in pediatric electrophysiology through The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), University of Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Castellanos has served in various organizations such as Project Automated Defibrillator in Adam’s Memory (ADAM) as Medical Director, overseeing Heart Safe School Certifications and Emergency Response Drills, thus empowering community members in a common mission of sudden cardiac death prevention in the young. Dr. Castellanos has shared her expertise through various manuscripts, lectures, posters and peer-reviewed journals such as Congenital Cardiology Today and Clinical Dysmorphology.
Dr. Castellanos earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at University of California, Irvine through Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology from Louisiana State University through Children’s Hospital of New Orleans before completing an additional fellowship in pediatric electrophysiology in SickKids in Toronto.
