Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
The people. I wanted to be in a residency program that felt like a family. Where everyone supported each other and was committed to becoming the best pediatricians they can be. I felt the people at Valley Children’s Healthcare truly cared about the patients and each other, and I knew this is where I wanted to be.

Hobbies:
Ballroom dancing, sports (favorite teams: Golden State Warriors and "Oakland" Raiders), food (cooking/eating), movies/TV, video games, and spending time with my friends and family.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
I have always been a strong advocate for providing access to healthcare and resources for underserved populations, promoting wellness, and developing programs that would promote diversity and inclusion by providing opportunities for the underrepresented to become future healthcare providers. My past research activities includes genetically modifying white lupin plants to grow in harsh environments, developing novel breast cancer therapies, and projects related to infectious diseases and surgical complications.

Care Philosophy:
I believe to be able to provide the best healthcare, you have to always be present and understand everyone has their own unique story. We all come from unique backgrounds, so we should always be open-minded and unbiased. The doctor-patient relationship is a partnership. It is important to build and maintain trust by always being professional, understanding, respectful, caring, and empathetic.
