Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
Each interaction I had with faculty and residents on my interview day left me wanting to be a part of the Valley Children's family. Their passion, dedication, and camaraderie were tangible and represented exactly what I was looking for in a residency program. In addition, I also admired the endless opportunities for advocacy, research, and education through Valley Children's, which made me excited to start out my career as a pediatrician at such a wonderful institution. And of course, getting to do residency in my home state of California so close to my family was a big plus too!

Hobbies:
Dancing (either taking classes or teaching them myself), spending time with my family, friends, and my adorable dog, watching shows/movies, traveling and exploring new places, and restaurant hunting.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
My advocacy and community engagement experiences range from volunteering at free mobile health clinics to working with nonprofits to deliver meals/groceries to individuals in times of need. My most recent research experience focused on conducting a literature review of the readability of available online information targeted towards parents of patients with pediatric rheumatic diseases such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Care Philosophy:
I believe that all patients and families deserve to be treated with the utmost respect, dignity, care, and warmth. I also believe that knowledge is power, and that it is my job as a pediatrician to compassionately educate my patients and their families at every opportunity so that they feel empowered to take control of their health, and to be an advocate for them at every turn.
