Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
I chose Valley Children’s Healthcare because their enthusiasm and pride in serving the children of the Central Valley were truly palpable. I was impressed by the robust training their curriculum provides, covering both primary care and a well-rounded exposure to subspecialty pediatrics. Moreover, I greatly admired the high value they place on community engagement and interprofessional collaboration. This emphasis made me eager to be part of a community where I could actively participate in learning from, about, and with each other.
Hobbies:
Spending time with family and friends, checking out local events (especially those that involve food and anything ube), reading, exploring the outdoors, watching K-dramas
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
My prior research focused on the dynamic interaction between cytomegalovirus and the hematopoietic cell system. I also volunteered at a free community health clinic, extending support to underserved Filipino-American residents in San Francisco's South of Market (SOMA) District.
Care Philosophy:
As an incoming pediatrician, my care philosophy is rooted in optimizing communication and education in order to empower my patients and their families with the tools they need to lead healthier lives. I am dedicated to extending genuine empathy and high quality care to children and their families, while committing myself to remaining up-to-date with evidence-based medical practices. My mission is to build lasting, trust-filled relationships that inspire confidence and ensure that each child receives the comprehensive and compassionate care they deserve.
