Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
Having grown up in the Central Valley, bearing witness to the impacts Valley Children’s has made on my community, choosing Valley Children’s was an easy decision. As a medical student rotating at Valley Children’s, I experienced firsthand the collaborative essence of the resident program, emphasizing interprofessional education, mentorship, and community engagement. I know I will be supported in my goals to become a well-rounded pediatrician and continue the growth and extension of pediatric care in the Valley.

Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, hosting dinner/themed parties, going on walks, playing pickle ball, crocheting, watching reality TV, making and trying new matcha/tea cafés, trying new restaurants, and following Formula 1.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
My research endeavors have focused on evaluating and addressing health behaviors, food insecurity, and health education. While in medical school, I analyzed food insecurity on campus and identified the need to establish a student-run food pantry to increase access to safe and nutritious food for students. With my background in nutrition and dietetics, I have an immense appreciation for the role of food in our lives – beyond its nutritional value, food is cultural, social, and comfort.

Care Philosophy:
As a pediatrician, I have the privilege to help patients throughout their most formative years and guide them into adulthood. I hope to provide patients and families with a solid educational foundation to help them achieve their health goals. Whether it is a small step in the right direction or bridging the gap between goals and actions, I am dedicated to equipping each patient for their day and their lifelong journey.
