About Me
Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics, Dr. Jeremy Woods joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group in 2020. He is a physician in the Medical Genetics and Metabolism Clinic and the director of the Prenatal Diagnostic Center. As the academic chair of Medical Genetics and Metabolism he is also a clinical assistant professor (affiliated) at Stanford University.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Woods worked as a clinical instructor and physician at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he provided diagnostic testing and management of genetic and metabolic disorders in pediatric and adult patients.
Dr. Woods also spent several years serving as a physician scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles. While there, he characterized rare diseases using clinical and experimental genomic and molecular biology methods. He has shared his passions and research through volunteer positions as well; in 2017, Dr. Woods worked as a medical volunteer at the Ghana Health and Education Initiative where he provided primary care in a rural, low-resource setting. His work has been shared through a multitude of presentations and has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Genetics in Medicine, Muscle and Nerve, Neuropathology and The Journal of Pediatrics.
Dr. Woods received his doctorate from Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine. He went on to complete a pediatric internship, a pediatric residency and a medical genetics fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles.
