Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
I chose Valley Children’s Healthcare because it aligns with my commitment to serving underserved and diverse communities. Growing up in Fresno, Valley Children’s has always been a part of my community and the hospital families trusted, including mine. I always knew I wanted to train the community that helped shape who I am. During my rotations, I could tell that the program really cares about its patients and its residents. I was drawn to the sense of community, the strong focus on underserved care, and the opportunity to work with families who face real challenges accessing healthcare. I wanted to be somewhere where I’d grow not just as a pediatrician, but as an advocate, and Valley Children's felt like the perfect place for that.

Hobbies:
Exploring new restaurants and coffee shops around town, long walks, hanging out with my amazing family and friends.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
Throughout medical school, I have been committed to advocating for vulnerable populations from volunteering at student run clinics to community outreach by serving meals to individuals in times of need. My most recent research focused on telemedicine in neonatal care, especially looking at the barriers rural hospitals face in transferring patients to NICUs. My work included identifying platform variability, cataloging equipment needs, and developing best practice documents for conducting telemedicine consults.

Care Philosophy:
My care philosophy centers on empathy, equity, and empowerment. I strive to meet families where they are and ensure that every child receives compassionate, evidence-based care. I believe in building trust with families, especially those who may have felt unheard or overlooked in the past. My goal is to focus on the whole picture, understanding not just the illness, but everything else that might be affecting a child’s health, from housing to language barriers to systemic inequities.
