Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medication Safety

When your child is sick, knowing which over-the-counter (OTC, meaning not needing a prescription) medicines to give – and how much to give – can often be confusing and scary. OTCs can sometimes help in easing your child’s pain, but it’s very important to ensure you following the dosage instructions carefully. It’s important to talk with your child’s pediatrician before giving them any type of OTC medicine for the first time.

Follow up with your pediatrician if your child’s condition doesn’t improve, or if you have any questions regarding dosage.
