Valley Children’s Neuromuscular Clinic
Muscular dystrophy is not just one disease, but a group of inherited disorders that cause muscle weakness, making it difficult to move and breathe. There's no cure for muscular dystrophy but there are treatment options.
Valley Children’s MDA Clinic, a California Children’s Service (CCS) approved site, is a clinic specifically designed for patients who have been diagnosed with a muscular disease. At every clinic visit, the patient is cared for by a multidisciplinary team of specialists including: a neurologist specializing in muscle weakness, a physical therapist, a specially trained RN and nurse practitioner, dietician as needed, a respiratory therapist and a social worker. The team works together to create a unique care plan for each patient seen.
