Why did you choose Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency?
I love that Valley Children's is a stand-alone children’s hospital and serves a diverse demographic. I could tell right away at my interview that all the faculty who work at the hospital truly care for their patients and care for one another. I felt assured that I would be supported through residency personally and professionally.
Hobbies:
I like to try new foods and go on walks. I also love to do artsy things like paint, draw, craft, etc. Most importantly, I love to spend time with my family, friends, and bunny!
Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments:
Every child has different physical and mental needs, and it’s important to work with the patient and family to tailor the care for each kid. I worked at a camp that provided support for families with children who have/have had brain tumors. I facilitated support sessions for children with brain tumors and their siblings about loss, frustrations they experience, and things they look forward to in life. I hope to continue working with kids of various abilities and work together to provide the best care for them.
Care Philosophy:
I believe children can be a part of the conversation when it comes to taking care and understanding their bodies, and hope to foster a safe and open environment in which patients and their families feel welcome and a part of the health care team.
