Medical Staff Services

Valley Children’s has a medical staff of 670 physicians consisting of active, provisional, consulting and community physicians. Medical Staff Services at Valley Children’s supports our doctors, improving access to our services for referring physicians and families.

Medical Staff Services is responsible for coordinating the hiring and reappointment of physicians and subspecialists at Valley Children’s. We assist physicians in completing the credentialing and reappointment process quickly and efficiently. Medical Staff Services is also responsible for coordinating the Independent Practice Association (IPA) credentialing and reappointment with Childnet Medical Associates, our physician contracting network for primary care physicians and specialists.

Charged with controlling physician privileges, Medical Staff Services ensures physicians have their correct privileges to practice at Valley Children’s. We provide meeting support and coordination to the medical staff’s 35 internal Hospital committees. Medical Staff Services also coordinates physician oriented events and activities, including recognition events and annual meetings. We are responsible for recording our doctors’ Continuing Medical Education courses (CMEs), required for physician license renewal.
