Nursing at Valley Children's

Seventy years ago, five young women realized their dream of opening a hospital where their children and the children of the Valley could receive healthcare close to home. For the nursing staff at Valley Children’s, we know that the legacy they left is not the original single-story building that housed Valley Children’s Hospital and Guidance Clinic, but the mission and vision that inspire the professional practice of nursing at Valley Children’s today.

Valley Children’s nurses work in close collaboration with all members of a child’s care team – including the patient and their family – to provide only the best care for the children and families of Central California. Our nurses function as one team that is highly collaborative, extremely compassionate, and poised with expertise. This dedication to excellence has created a nursing culture that focuses on providing evidence-based practice to ensure high-quality patient care resulting in nationally recognized outcomes – all in an environment where Family-Centered Care is foundational to the care we provide.
