Valley Children’s Honored as “Best Children’s Hospital” by The Women’s Choice Award for Second Year in a Row

(Madera, California) – For the second year in a row, Valley Children’s Hospital has been named as a Best Children’s Hospital for 2019 by the Women’s Choice Award.

“We are honored to have the endorsement of such a trusted source for parents looking for the best care for their children,” says Valley Children’s Healthcare President and CEO Todd Suntrapak. “Even more significant is the national recognition our physicians, nurses and staff are receiving for their continued commitment to our kids. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the trust of our families. The true value of honors like these is that it recognizes the investment this community has made in Valley Children’s for more than 70 years. We will continue to work to honor that trust for generations to come.

“Our goal at the Women’s Choice Award is to help moms—and parents—make educated, confident decisions about where to take their children for a wide range of healthcare services,” said Delia Passi, founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award, and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. “Our Best Children’s Hospitals award helps raise awareness of the top quality care offered for children—not only the critically ill—with specialists, services and technologies for their unique needs."

The list of winners, including Valley Children’s, represents hospitals that have met the highest standards for childcare. The designation of Best Children’s Hospitals is based on a point system and self-reported data from children’s hospitals around the country. The selection criteria focused on five critical areas: Pediatric services, commitment to quality and patient safety, board-certified staff, family resources and technology.

Earlier this year, Valley Children’s was also recognized as one the of the best children’s hospitals in the country by U.S. News and World Report. This year, the Hospital ranked in four pediatric specialties - Neonatology, Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology and Pediatric Gastroenterology & Gastrointestinal Surgery.
